Give Quilts is a non-profit founded to reuse and recycle fabrics, donations, quilt blocks and tops and create uplifting, colorful and comfortable quilts.
These quilts will go to hospitals, shelters and requests for people in need. This can include kids or adults, especially the elderly, who could benefit through an illness or difficult time.
I am also making dog and cat blankers as well for shelters.
In 2020 I began experimenting with quilting and soon found myself in love with the creative process and the joy these useful pieces of art brought others.
After starting a custom quilt business, I found that most of my work ended up being given away! So why not organize this effort?
I decided to start this small, local charity to benefit my community and hopefully bring joy and comfort to those who need some inspiration and encouragement.
I am a passionate animal lover and make dog and cat blankets from warm, snuggly fleece as well.
I have worked for many non-profit healthcare systems and have enjoyed being a part of charity boards for many years. I have strong connections with the Jewish, Christian, LGBT, and HIV support communities.
All donations will be used for making quilts and pet comfort items and will be transparently reported. My goal is to build a community of reuse and recycle and bringing new life to old quilts and quilt projects.
Quilts will be given to local organizations, hospitals, nursing homes, shelters and sent to individuals.
